Iberia Bank Credit Card

Iberia Bank discontinued Classic Visa Card

Information below is for archival purposes only

iberia bank credit card

The Iberia Bank Classic Visa Card offers no rewards or cash back features, but the cardholder pays a very affordable 7.25% APR for applicants with an excellent credit history, while those having lower credit scores would pay still reasonable rates of 10.25% or 13.25% APR.

The Iberia Bank Classic Visa does not charge cardholders any annual fee.

The card best serves people who decide to finance their purchases over time at rates usually lower than personal loans usually offer.

In addition there are no application fees and the cardholder holder names his or her own time frame for repayment of the loan.

Other features of this basic credit card include

  • Low 2% balance transfer fee
  • Worldwide Visa acceptance
  • Free online account access
  • Zero liability against fraudulent purchases
  • Verified by Visa online shopping protection
  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver
  • Roadside Dispatch

In additional Iberia offers an introductory 1.99% balance transfer APR for 6 months on opening an account (a 2% balance transfer fee applies).

The grace period of 25 days is generous, which means you are entitled to try before you pay depending on the retailer’s policy of restocking fees and/or return policies.

Kardashian Sisters Want Your Money

Kardasian Kard

The Kardashian sisters have succeeded in many areas of their lives, but launching the Kardashian Card wasn’t one of them.

“In November of 2010, the Kardashian sisters announced that they would be launching a Prepaid debit card called the Kardashian Kard. After launching their website (http://KardashianKard.com), announcing their fees and launching their product, it was quickly taken off the market due to a firestorm of criticism, including criticism from the Connecticut Attorney General, George Jepsen.”

CNN writes the AG’s name was Richard Blumenthal not Jepsen, and Blumenthal had this to say about the much-maligned card:

“Among the prepaid debit cards now on the market, the Kardashian Kard is particularly troubling because of its high fees combined with its appeal to financially unsophisticated young adult Kardashian fans,” he wrote. “Keeping up with the Kardashians is impossible using these cards.”

Not only did the trio (Kim, Khloe and Kourtney) lose face, they faced a lawsuit from the firm which issued the piece of plastic.

“The trio’s company, Dash Dolls, along with step-dad Bruce Jenner and Kardashian mom Kris Kardashian Jenner were also named in the suit.

“The company, California-based Revenue Resource Group LLC, claims millions were lost after the three backed that [bleep] up and out of the deal.”

Never one to miss a juicy story, Forbes entered into the bashing by labeling the financial product a rip-off.

“Last week, the Kardashian sisters launched a new credit card targeted at teens, one of the worst products to enter the financial market in a long time.

“The card is very expensive and using the Kardashians as financial role models to impressionable teenagers is already being questioned by financial experts around the country.”

Cosmopolitan, UK edition, had a tongue-in-cheek write-up of the defunct card, which may have some value today on ebay as a curiosity.

“Either way, here’s a little relic from 2010 we’d all forgotten about: there used to be a ‘Kardashian Kard’, owned by Kim and her sisters. That’s right, she literally had her own debit card.

“The Kardashian Prepaid MasterCard allowed you to have to up $250,000 (about £173,000) in a bank account which you could then access by making purchases with the card. It’s kind of like a debit card – you couldn’t spend money you didn’t have. The glitzy card was wildly successful – and when we say that, we mean it was taken off the market after a month.”
